America Ferrera, who played the leading character in the television series Ugly Betty, has married filmmaker Ryan Piers Williams, her long-time boyfriend, according to People magazine.
Ferrara, 27, and Williams, 30, were married Monday night in “an intimate setting amongst close friends and family,” her agent said.
Among the wedding guests were Ferrera’s Ugly Betty co-stars Vanessa Williams and Rebecca Romijn, actor Jerry O’Connell and Blake Lively, with whom she starred in the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants films.
The couple, who met when both were students at University of Southern California, have been engaged since June 2010.
Williams cast Ferrera in his student film Muertas (Dead Women), about women murdered in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.
He later directed Ferrera in the 2010 Sundance film the Dry Land, a drama about post-traumatic stress among soldiers.
Born in the U.S. to Honduran parents, Ferrera won a Golden Globe, an Emmy and a Screen Actors Guild Award for her role as the braces-wearing, bespectacled, aspiring magazine editor Betty Suarez in Ugly Betty. Her next project is voicing the sequel to how to Tame your Dragon.
